An American Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration N793AN performing flight AA-37 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA), was enroute at FL380 near Memphis,TN (USA) when the aircraft encountered severe turbulence. The aircraft continued to Dallas for a safe landing about 2:10 hours later.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED SEVERE TURBULENCE INJURYING TWO FLIGHT ATTENDANTS, MEMPHIS, TN."

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 20 hours after landing.
