An Asia Pacific Airlines Boeing 757-200 freightere, registration N688SL performing mail flight P9-881 from Hong Kong (China) to Guam (Guam), was enroute at FL350 over the Pacific Ocean (Philippine Sea) when the crew descended the aircraft to 10,000 feet and diverted to Manila (Philippines) due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft landed safely on Manila's runway 24 about an hour later.

On Sep 4th 2026 the aircraft departed from Manila to Guam again after about 16 hours on the ground, but again needed to return to Manila at 10,000 feet and landed safely back about 2 hours after departure.

On Sep 5th 2026 the aircraft departed again from Manila to Guam but again needed to desend to 10,000 feet and this time diverted to Airai (Palau) for a safe landing.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Airai about 12 hours after landing there.
