A Fly4 Airlines Boeing 737-800 on behalf of TUI Airways, registration EI-FFB performing flight BY-1374 from Belfast International,NI (UK) to Larnaca (Cyprus), was enroute at FL350 about 50nm southeast of Amsterdam (Netherlands) when the crew turned the aircraft around and decided to divert to Amsterdam. On approach to Amsterdam the crew advised no assistance, no ATC considerations were needed, a normal landing would occur, they had a technical problem that prevented them from flying in icing conditions. The aircraft entered a hold at FL070 and landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 06 about 2:20 hours later.
A Privilege Style Airbus A321-200 registration EC-NLJ continued the flight and reached Larnaca with a delay of about 23 hours.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 19.5 hours before positioning back to Belfast and returned to service about 37 hours after landing in Amsterdam.
