An Indigo Airbus A321-200N, registration VT-IMD performing flight 6E-2142 from Delhi to Srinagar (India) with 227 people on board, was descending towards Srinagar when the aircraft flew through hail. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Srinagar's runway 31.
The airline reported the aircraft encountered sudden hailstorm during the descent towards Srinagar resulting in damage to the radome.

On May 24th 2025 India's DGCA reported that the crew requested to deviate to the left towards international territory to avoid bad weather, but did not receive clearance to do so from Indian Air Force, subsequently contacted Lahore (Pakistan) Control but was denied permission to use Pakistani Airspace, too (both Pakistan and India deny each other use of their airspaces following a conflict over Kashmir earlier this year). The crew considered to turn back but was already too close to the cell and decided to penetrate and get through the cell at the shortest way possible. The aircraft encountered turbulence and hail while flying through the cell.
