A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N584JB performing flight B6-1593 from Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA) to Nassau (Bahamas), was descending towards Nassau about 50nm out when a portable charger ignited emitting smoke. Cabin crew extinguished the fire with water and contained the device in the forward lavatory trash can. ATC was informed about the emergency and the aircraft landed safely on Nassau's runway 14.

Bahama's AIB rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation.
