A Nesma Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration SU-NMR performing flight NE-10 from Cairo to Aswan (Egypt), was cleared to land on Aswan's runway 35R, the clearance was read back. However, the aircraft touched down on closed runway 35, parallel to runway 35R, and slowed without further incident. The aircraft subsequently was able to taxi off the runway with the assistance of a "Follow Me" vehicle.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Aswan for 7:45 hours, then performed the return flight NE-13.

According to AIP Supplement 22/25 runway 17/35 had been closed on Jan 1st 2025 due to work in progress.
