A Swiss International Airlines Bombardier C-Series CS-300, registration HB-JCE performing flight LX-238 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Cairo (Egypt) with 108 people on board, was climbing out of Zurich's runway 28 when the crew stopped the climb at FL160 due to problems with their air data system and decided to return to Zurich. The aircraft landed safely back on runway 14 about 40 minutes after departure.
The airline reported a faulty sensor in the air data system caused conflicting data displays. Due to the better and quickler maintenance facilities in Zurich the crew decided to return. The passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 18 hours after landing back.
