A Wizz Air UK Airbus A321-200N, registration G-WUKP performing flight W9-5390 from Poznan (Poland) to London Luton,EN (UK), was enroute at FL360 about 120nm east of Amsterdam (Netherlands) still in German Airspace when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and decided to divert to Amsterdam. The aircraft landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 22, stopped on the runway for about 5 minutes for an inspection by emergency services and taxied to the apron.

The airline reported a technical issue.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Amsterdam about 8 hours after landing.

On Aug 1st 2025 the Dutch Onderzoeksraad reported the crew declared Mayday after detecting the smell of smoke in the cockpit. Subsequently they experienced problems with their autoflight system (no autopilot, no autothrust), the aircraft diverted to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 22. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated by the DSB.
