A Cathay Pacific Airbus A350-900, registration B-LRT performing flight CX-315 from Hong Kong (China) to Madrid,SP (Spain) with 297 people on board, was enroute at FL380 over Romania when the crew requested to descend to FL340 reporting turbulence at FL380 and was cleared to descend to FL340. During the descend the crew decided to drift the aircraft down to FL260 and divert to Munich (Germany). On approach to Munich the crew advised it was not an emergency and no emergency services were needed. The aircraft landed safely on Munich's runway 08R about 90 minutes after leaving FL380.

The remainder of the flight and the return flight were cancelled.

Ground observers reported the aircraft was seen on Munich's apron with one of the engines (Trent XWB) opened. According to information The Aviation Herald received there had been a loss of engine oil pressure.
