A Smartwings Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Eurowings, registration OK-TSF performing flight EW-682 from Cologne (Germany) to Athens (Greece), was descending through FL260 towards Athens when the cabin altitude warning illuminated prompting the crew to don their oxygen masks and perform the related memory items. The cabin altitude could be controlled at 10,000 feet with the bleed valve fully closed. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Athens' runway 03R.

Czechia's UZPLN reported a maintenance organisation was called in, which incorrectly released the aircraft back to flight under minimum equipment list requirements after disconnecting the cabin pressure control system. The maintenance engineer did not follow the fault isolation manual which indicated that the "LO INFL/HI LEAKG" fault message does not indicate a fault in the digital cabin pressurization system.

The aircraft was able to complete 5 flights but suffered another similiar incident the following day, see Incident: Smartwings B738 near Rhodes on Aug 13th 2025, loss of cabin pressure.
