A Thai Airways Boeing 787-9, registration HS-TWA performing flight TG-663 from Shanghai Pudong (China) to Bangkok (Thailand), was climbing out of Pudong's runway 17L when the crew stopped the climb at 2700 meters/9000 feet due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft dumped fuel and returned to Pudong for a safe landing on runway 16R about 80 minutes after departure.

The aircraft is still on the ground about 13 hours after landing.
