A THY Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration TC-JJG performing flight TK-6 (dep Sep 21st) from Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) to Istanbul (Turkey) with 330 people on board, was enroute at FL330 about 140nm southwest of Goose Bay,NL (Canada) when the crew received a left hand engine (GE90) low oil quantity indication and observed, the fuel quantity had dropped to 3 quarts. The crew consulted with maintenance and dispatch and decided to divert to Goose Bay for a safe landing on runway 08 about 55 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found an oil leak originated from the back-up generator seal and drain line of the #1 engine.
