A Transair Boeing 737-500, registration 6V-AJD performing charter flight R2-4401 from Dakar (Senegal) to Nouakchott (Mauritania) carrying the soccer team of AS Douanes, landed on Nouakchott's runway 06 at 12:24L (12:24Z) but came to a stop off the runway with all gear on soft ground (sand). There were no injuries.
According to local reports the aircraft veered sharply off the runway before coming to a stop.
ADS-B data transmitted by the aircraft suggest, the aircraft landed left off the runway with an offset of about 0.5nm to the left.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Nouakchott for 4 days before returning to Dakar.
