A Volaris Airbus A321-200, registration N536VL performing flight Y4-1715 from Los Angeles,CA (USA) to Guadalajara (Mexico), was enroute at FL350 about 90nm southeast of Tijuana (Mexico) when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Tijuana due to left hand engine (PW1133G) vibrations. The aircraft landed safely on Tijuana's runway 27 about 30 minutes later.
Mexico's DGCA reported: "uring cruise, the flight crew observed on the ECAM a strong vibration (N2) in engine No. 1, model PW1133G-JA & ESN: P800184, and decided to divert the aircraft to Tijuana International Airport.", rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Tijuana on Jun 23rd 2025.
